Information about course conversions from old to new subject
codes and course numbers are available via a downloadable Excel data file that includes all
courses that were converted in Banner using an automated script .
This script converted an existing old course to a new course
that uses one of the new common subject designators.
The crosswalk file does NOT include courses that have have
been manually added into Banner since the automated, scripted
conversions were completed. Therefore, the usefulness of
this file is limited to answering historical questions such as,
“What new course was our college’s old Accounting 202 course
converted to?” or “What old course was our
new BIO* 110 converted from?”.
-
Download or open the CCN Crosswalk data
file.
(Excel format;
conversions run from Banner 2/26/04 and appended with additional
records run 2/28/05 and 2-06-06. Course
conversions via script have now been completed.)
-
View
a narrated multimedia tutorial that explains the CCN course
structure, and demonstrates how to sort and filter the crosswalk
data.
- Turn on your speakers or put on
your headphones.
- Use the playback controls at the
bottom of the browser window to pause, rewind, play, etc.
The process of using a script to facilitate old-to-new course
conversions is now completed for the courses
in the Connecticut Community College system. Going forward, new
courses will be manually created in the Banner catalog, and old
courses will be manually ended.
