Transitioning from Office 2003 to Office 2007

Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack (for Office 2003 users)
If you're still using Office 2003 but need to open Office 2007 files, install the Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 files and you will be able to open, edit, and save files created in Office 2007 even if you have not yet upgraded to that version on your own PC.

Introductory Microsoft Office 2007 Tutorials
Take a multimedia tour of the new Office 2007 interface to learn more about the new features it offers.

Interactive Office 2007 Command Reference Guides Help You Find What You're Looking For!
Can't find a function in Office 2007 that you knew how to find in Office 2003? Take heart! These visual, interactive command reference guides help you find your favorite Microsoft Office 2003 commands in the new 2007 interface in just a click. Just "mouse over" an Office 2003 menu command in each application, and a little box at the top tells you where to find that command in the Office 2007 version of the application.

Installable "Get Started" Tabs
Install a "Get Started" tab into each of your Office 2007 applications, and you'll have easy, immediate access to links to training courses, demos, and an online interactive mapping tool that will show you where to find previous Office 2003 buttons and commands in Office 2007.

Install the Microsoft Add-In to Enable "Save-As" Directly to PDF format from all Office 2007 Applications
Once MS Office 2007 is installed on your computer, be sure that the MS Office Add-In that enables you to save any document as a PDF has been installed.

To check, just click the Office button at the top left of whatever Office 2007 application you're working in, and select Save As. If PDF is one of the save options, then the Add-In has been installed. If not, then (if you're on your home PC), just download and install it. If you're working on your office computer, then your IT department may need to install this for you.

Online Self-paced E-Learning Courses from Microsoft.com
Fulltime staff and faculty are eligible to access E-Learning courses online at Microsoft.com. These courses are meant to help users keep up-to-date with the latest major software releases. You will be able to access them from home as well PCs on-campus. For information on how to access these courses, contact your college's IT director.
