The Community College Open Door

An open door admissions policy offers the opportunity for admission to every high school graduate or anyone holding a high school equivalency diploma (GED) without requiring Scholastic Aptitude Tests.  Some programs such as Nursing require specific preparation for admission, and therefore have special requirements.  Students enrolling in a major for an associate degree are required to take a college placement test to ensure proper class placement.

Admissions Directors

High school students can be accepted for early admission and may also participate in the High School Partnership program and the College Careers Pathways (Tech Prep) program through their local high school.  Each college's Admissions Director can provide information on High School Partnerships and the college program coordinators work with the high school counseling offices throughout the state.
