Low tuition & fees along with extensive financial aid opportunities,
including federal, state, and college scholarship programs, make higher
education affordable for many students. In 2008-2009 a full-time student taking 12 credits
or more per semester
for two semesters will pay $2,084 in basic tuition and fees. There are additional fees for clinical, laboratory, and studio courses,
or excess credit.
Credits earned at a Community College can be transferred to most four-year colleges and universities.
There are agreements with many public and private institutions, including the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut State University System.
A guaranteed admissions agreement with the University of Connecticut guarantees places for community college transfer students who maintain a 3.0 average in obtaining an associate degree liberal arts and sciences. A dual admissions agreement between Three Rivers, Manchester, and Quinebaug Valley Community Colleges and Eastern Connecticut State University offers students guaranteed admissions to the University upon completion of an associate degree. Transfer agreements with the other Connecticut State Universities also ensure third-year status for community college transfer students who choose an established transfer curriculum.
Complete an associate degree before transferring to complete a bachelor's degree and it's like getting a two-year scholarship.
