MISSION AND GOALS

The Board recognizes that historically certain groups have been excluded from full participation in educational and employment opportunities, and that if they are to overcome the present effects of this past exclusion, affirmative steps beyond simple neutrality are required.

In the Office of the Chancellor, the System Officer for Diversity implements system affirmative action policy and the system affirmative action plan, and promotes programs related to increasing access and retention of historically discriminated against and underutilized groups.
