Naugatuck Valley Community College – Technology Center
In
August of 2000, a Master Plan, including a program of technology
instructional space needs, was completed for Naugatuck Valley Community
College. The Master Plan recommended the construction of a new facility
to provide a state-of-the-art technology facility.
This new technology building, with approximately 100,000 GSF, has been
sited on the upper part of the campus and will be visible to all who
enter. It will eliminate the seven temporary buildings on campus and
allow the extremely successful automotive technology program, currently
in 10,000 GSF of leased space off campus, to be relocated on campus. The
new building will also house engineering labs, computer and general
purpose classrooms, hospitality management, horticulture programs, and
an adjacent green house.
The Bond Commission allocated construction funding in January 2006. The
Department of Public Works began the project in May 2006, with project
completion anticipated for fall 2008
