Sometime prior to 1984 the Directors of Information
Technology at the Connecticut Community Colleges came together to form a
council now known as the IT Directors Council. The council provides a
forum for disseminating system information, bringing forth IT concerns
from the campuses, sharing solutions to common issues, and providing
feedback on system initiatives. The members of this council
provide a link for each community college to stay current on new and
revised IT projects and procedures. One member sits on ITPC
as a representative from the council.
Committee Charge
The IT Directors Council’s membership includes IT
Directors from the 12 community colleges and representatives from the
system data center. Responsibilities of this committee include:
representing the colleges in different aspects of information
technology, researching IT initiatives through the formation of
subcommittees, providing recommendations to the system data center and ITPC on acquisitions and procedures that would involve the community
colleges as a whole and coordinate campus wide initiatives when
appropriate.
